The Alpine Food Bank

Alpine is known for its beautiful views, quiet streets, and historical sights.  This is where the famous Raggedy Anne & Andy characters were created in 1915 by John Gruelle, where many peoples’ transportation were mainly on horseback and on stage coaches, and where the original Alpine Schoolhouse built in 1876 still stands.  Back then, people met in the center of town once a week to gather their mail, say hello and help each other out.

Alpine is a part of a great history and we need to keep that history of a great community alive.  Neighbors helped each other out with their gifts of trade and talents and my hope is that we can still keep that history going.  
Whether you believe in blessings, karma, or paying it forward, Bethel Christian Assembly has a way that you can help.  With the help of many volunteers, including myself, the Alpine Food Bank helps to feed as many people as possible, but we need your help too.  
Many of the people that we serve cannot afford to give financially, however they give their time by working at the food bank.  Every little bit helps and in order to keep feeding those in need, we need the finances to keep it going. The point is that this is America and children are starving.  
This should not be an issue, but it is.  I ask that you be proud of our beautiful small town who helps many from El Cajon, to the Indians in Viejas and all the way up to Campo and to please give whatever is in your heart to give.  There is no amount too big or too small.  So come on out, change lives, and say “I Love Alpine”!  For more information on the food bank or to donate, stop by 1929 Arnold Way or call 619-445-5508.
