Thought for the Week: Unconscious competence

Life is about learning and growing and revealing our whole and holy Self. Each stage in life brings challenges and rewards. When we were children there was so much to learn from learning to walk, talk, feeding ourselves and much more. Once we mastered those things we didn’t even need to think about how to do them – we just do them! That’s called unconscious competence.
Learning to master physical feats is one thing – learning to master our thoughts and feelings is quite another. Thoughts and their subsequent feelings play a major role in bringing life experiences to us. The more we become aware of our true Self the more we can constructively and consciously contribute to the well being of ourselves, those around us and even the plant itself.
We are on the path of taking the 21 Day Challenge of not complaining. That means if something happens not to our liking, we notice it, but do not bring added negative words and emotions to the experience. We are at choice to think about what we want and let go of those things that we don’t want. In this way we are developing unconscious competency in bringing the things we do want to experience into our lives.
Say with me: “I am in charge of my thinking, feelings and words. I am diligent in only voicing words that are free from negativity. Each day in every way I am getting better and better. Life is very good and I am happy. Thank you God. And it is so.”
