June 13 is the last day of school for the Alpine Union School District. Here are some ideas for summer activities and care.
There are a few options for kids interested in soccer.
“Our first day was April 6 at the Alpine Community Center,” said program coordinator for Soccer Shots and an Alpine resident, Maddy Kossman. “Soccer Shots are for social/emotional skills as well as motor skills. There is one ball per child, versus one ball per group.”
“Soccer Shots started out on the East Coast. And my boss, Liz Barker, introduced the franchise eight years ago. We serve locations in San Diego’s northeast, south, and east county,” Kossman said.
“We have classes for 3 to 6-year-olds and minis 2 to 3-year-olds,” said Kossman. Contact Soccer Shots for their summer event schedule.

Gymnastics summer camps start in July.
Gym Trix, Inc. will hold summer camps July 15, July 29, and August 12. The camps will run from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. and the cost will be $225 per week. Call (619) 659-8772 for details.
Alpine Country Day Schools Care Club offers a summer program with cooking, art, sports, music and movement, and field trips every Friday. Their phone number is (619) 445-3553.
The Alpine Education Foundation additionally offers summer care under a program branded AEF4kids.
As of the middle of May registration was opened to students in grades K-8, said program director for the Alpine Education Foundation Ashlee Rodgers. The camps start June 17.
