Lions Tigers & Bears is a no-kill facility that has created a sanctuary for well known stars such as Bakari, an African male lion who came to LTB with his two sisters, Suri and Jillian at the age of 4 weeks. Then there is Conrad the Cougar, who was a young male caught in late 2006 by the California Fish & Game while he was roaming around an elementary school in Redlands California.
Raja and Natasha came to LTB from Texas in September 2002. These two Bengal Tigers were full grown and rescued from a life where they were kept in a 6’ x 12’ cage with no shade or shelter from the weather. After these two beautiful animals moved to LTB, it was discovered that Natasha was pregnant, and she successfully birthed Sitarra and her sister Tabu.
Meatball, the newest star of LTB moved to the reserve on August 26, 2012. He is the infamous Glendale bear that returned to the LaCanada Flintridge area near L.A. to scaveng for food and was filmed in at least two locations and seen in a homeowner’s swimming pool. This charismatic bear has captured the heart of everyone at LTB. Meatball is a habituated bear, which means he isn’t afraid to enter human habituated areas. This makes him a little dangerous as he is not afraid to get what he wants, and therefore he had to be taken into a reserve where he would be safe and happy, as well as the neighborhood where he was collecting his daily nibbles. Other bears that live here are: Liberty, Blossom, Delilah and Sugar Bear. All of these animals have intriguing stories.
Some of the other animals that reside on the beautiful estate include Gizmo, RJ and Mia thebobcats, Tuffy the Serval, Conga the Leopard, and a variety of domestic animals that would love some extra petting.
