Stunning addition at the Alpine library

I am thrilled to share some exciting news with you. In this month’s newsletter I am focusing on two very special upcoming art events.

On Saturday, April 13, at 1 p.m. the Al­pine Library Friends Association (ALFA) is hosting an art reception and ribbon cutting to celebrate a stunning new addition to the Alpine Library, a stained glass window designed by local artist James Hubbell. The reception will include a documentary film screening of James Hubbell: Between Heaven and Earth, music by the Caprice Strings, informational displays of the Ilan- Lael Foundation (the art education and na­ture center founded by James and Anne Hub­bell), and light refreshments. The stained glass art is a gift from the Virginia Lambert family and ALFA, and will bring beauty and inspiration to all who visit the library for gen­erations to come! On Tuesday, April 23, from 4-6 p.m. come to our Teen Art Show where you will see works of art inspired by the book So B. It by Sarah Weeks. Vote on your favorite pieces. The top two pieces, one from middle school and one from high school, will each be awarded a $100.00 Visa gift card. The contest is open to all middle and high school students. Copies of So B. It can be found at the library and on our eBook app, Libby. Art submissions accepted April 19-20. This program is spon­sored by the Alpine Library Friends Associa­tion.
