Carlita and Willie Coleman are ready to participate in the Junior Olympics in Norfolk, VA. They are 12 and 13 years old respectively and their goal is to raise enough money to participate in the Amateur Atheletic Union (AAU) National Junior Olympics in Norfolk, Virginia with our team The San Diego Cheetahs from August 3rd, 2015 to August 8th, 2015. Both children are hard working, good citizens and attend school at The Heights Charter School here in Alpine.
Carlita and Willie Coleman are ready to participate in the Junior Olympics in Norfolk, VA. They are 12 and 13 years old respectively and their goal is to raise enough money to participate in the Amateur Atheletic Union (AAU) National Junior Olympics in Norfolk, Virginia with our team The San Diego Cheetahs from August 3rd, 2015 to August 8th, 2015. They have been track athletes since the ages of 7 and 8 years old and have qualified to participate in the AAU National Junior Olympics every year since 2010. Carlita qualified in the Javelin and High Jump this year. Willie qualifed in the 400m, 800m & 1500m this year.
Willie recently won a a gold medal in the 3000 meters @ the Cal State games running 9:42.79 & a silver in the 400 meters in 52:49. Carlita received a silver in the discus with a throw of 18.07 meters @ the Cal State Games on July 18th & 19th.
This is their 6th year qualifying for the AAU National Junior Olympics. Willie will be attending Steele Canyon High school this fall and running on the Cross country team.
