The long awaited Alpine Library is welcoming guests to their grand opening on May 21, at 10 a.m.  Alpine is pulling out all the stops for this opening as Joan MacQueen Middle school Band and color guard will be performing, and the Alpine boy Scout Troop 105 will be making a presentation.  Also the Alpine Chorale will be performing, as will Rick Favale and Mark Haray with their band the Alternatives.

The 12,700 square feet of library, is four times larger than the little library that the community has been using on Arnold Way.
The library will house the new Friends of the Library Book Store, and a resource room for programs and exhibits.  The spacious interior is brightly decorated that welcomes all to find their place to research, read, and learn.  There are special areas that are for children, teens and tweens, that promote different atmospheres for different age study habits.  Also featured in this new library is a computer lab that houses 12 computer workstations.  There is an automated book checkout and return, lounge seating and study rooms.
This is the first Zero Net Energy building for the County of San Diego.
