Fun frights in store at library

By Susan Del Castillo

Hello Alpine Library Community,

October is full of exciting activities for all ages at the library! Here are just a few of the highlights:

For adults, we’re offering an important workshop, Critical Documents, on Saturday, October 5, from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. In this session, Julie Derry, MBA, Certified Senior Advisor, will guide you through the five critical documents everyone should have on file as they age. Whether for an emergency or unexpected event, these documents can provide peace of mind for you and your family.

Later that day, teens and adults can get creative with our Mini Pumpkin Succulent Centerpieces workshop from 1 – 2 p.m. Learn how to make a beautiful fall-themed centerpiece using pumpkins and succulents—supplies and instruction provided! Please be sure to register at sdcl.org/alpine, as space is limited.

Younger library-goers can “Make a Monster” on Saturday, October 26, from 11 a.m. – noon. We’ll provide the supplies, and they can let their imaginations run wild! And don’t miss Scary Stories to Tell in the Not So Dark on Tuesday, October 29, at 4 p.m. If you love scary books like Goosebumps or Coraline, this read-aloud is perfect for school-age children looking for a little Halloween fun.

We have many other events planned for you in October. To learn more open the attached events calendar or visit us online at sdcl.org/alpine and facebook.com/AlpineLibrary. All library programs are free and open to the public. Thank you to the Alpine Library Friends Association for their generous support.

See you at the library!

Susan del Castillo is Librarian II/ Branch Manager at Alpine Library.
