There’s a new team dedicated to solving crime in unincorporated areas of San Diego County. It’s called the Sheriff’s Analysis Driven Law Enforcement or S.A.D.L.E. Team. The Sheriff’s Sergeant and eight deputies will use intelligence-led policing strategies to see where the crime hot spots are and why.

There’s a new team dedicated to solving crime in unincorporated areas of San Diego County. It’s called the Sheriff’s Analysis Driven Law Enforcement or S.A.D.L.E. Team. The Sheriff’s Sergeant and eight deputies will use intelligence-led policing strategies to see where the crime hot spots are and why.
It’s about putting resources at the right place and the right time to stop the crime before it happens. For example, an unincorporated community might have a few car burglaries. A bordering neighborhood might have had a few more. In intelligence-led policing, a crime analyst will look for patterns. By tracking crime patterns, patrols can be targeted to where and when crimes are expected to occur. S.A.D.L.E. Deputies will also keep tabs on known offenders in the area with a history of similar crimes.
Criminals don’t respect neighborhood boundaries, law enforcement shouldn’t either. With this new team, the goal is to be proactive. The S.A.D.L.E. Team will further enhance our ability to provide service through a partnership with the community that builds trust, reduces crime, creates a safe environment, and enhances the quality of life in our neighborhoods.
