WHAT IS YOUR STANCE ON ALPINE COUNTY PARK AND WHAT AMENITIES WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE IN THE PARK?

I support a park that meets the needs of our community filled with natural elements that maintain Alpine’s integrity and the lifestyle of our residents.

We clearly need a community- oriented space for families and children to enjoy. Alpine community members have shared that they want dog walking paths, paths for horses, playgrounds for young children, and areas for barbequing and family gatherings. Some community members have shared that sports fields are also important. I support these views, especially the feedback related to areas for children and families.

I support the Idea of the park and I think the county had the kids of Alpine in mind when designing it and getting a place big enough to accommodate everyone’s needs and desires. I know I am not the only one that reads posts on community social media complaining about horses in the street, kids riding bikes, skateboards or kids being kids, this park helps quiet some of those concerns and negative comments.

I do not currently support the design as is. I want a park, but one that focuses on the demographics of the community and preserving water. The County needs to review the park’s concept to be more supportive of water conservation and natural resources and to support the community outlook.
