More hookahs are coming to Alpine?

Have you ever heard of iHookah?  It looks like one is trying to make its way into Alpine.  In the next Design and Review board meeting, iHooka is asking for signage approval, and has their location listed at 2963 Alpine Blvd.  This location is at the Albertsons Shopping Center, where Yogurt Jubilee was.

iHookah is a hookah lounge based out of Michigan.  They offer a variety of different tobaccos and according to one of the menus found online, they offer food, drinks, snacks, and are akin to bistros, or cafes.  Hookah lounges typically do not have alcoholic beverages, they are considered a novel and chic way to socialize and embrace multiculturalism.
However, the question is. . .do we need another hookah store in Alpine?  We are a small town, does Alpine need three establishments that offer the same merchandise?  To make your voice heard on this issue, attend the Alpine Community Planning Group meetings, when this issue is presented.  Stay abreast of these issues by reviewing the agendas as they are posted in The Alpine Sun.
