Alpine, CA – Mountain Health, a private, non-profit regional community health center dedicated to quality health care, health education and community services, has named Arthur Blain, M.D., as its new Chief Medical Officer.
Dr. Blain graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry. He received his medical doctorate from New York Medical College on a USAF Health Professions Scholarship. He then completed an internship at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, and served active duty tours in Washington, D.C., and the Republic of South Korea.
Dr. Blain furthered his training with a family practice residency at the University of California, San Diego, and he is Board Certified in Family Medicine and Board Eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
He also received his Masters in Business Administration from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
He specializes in Family Medicine and Hospice & Palliative Medicine and is biligual to help both English and Spanish speakers.
He has special clinical interests in diabetes, asthma, and Sports Medicine. In his spare time, Dr. Blain does ultramarathons and triathlons, coaches youth soccer and basketball, and is a Cub Scout leader.
