Something bunny happening at animal sanctuary

The San Diego Animal Sanctuary & Farm is celebrating Easter with four days of Easter Egg Hunts from March 28 through March 31.

The Easter Egg Hunts will begin at 11 a.m. each day, with an additional hunt on Saturday and Sunday at 3 p.m. for a total of six hunts. Tickets are $12, plus admission per child; the price includes one Easter basket and a total of up to 12 eggs. More than 8,000 eggs will be filled with plush animals, toys, and candy, spread out across the 20-acre farm. And a chance to find one giant egg with a special plush and family passes (two adults, two children) hidden in two golden eggs for each hunt.

“This is one of our very favorite events each year. Four days of Easter Egg Hunts. This year, we have more than 8,500 eggs sprinkled throughout the Farm for a total of 6 hunts. It’s so fun! And we are proud of what we have inside the eggs, from stuffies, big and small, to family passes, toys and of course…candy,” said Founder and Executive Director Agnes Barrelet.

The Farm’s sweet bunnies will be there too. And the Easter Bunny will also visit each day at 11 a.m., and again at 3 p.m. on weekends, for pictures and cuddles.

The San Diego Animal Sanctuary and Farm is home to more than 200 domesticated livestock and exotic animals. Most of the animals were pets who lost their homes due to their owner’s illness, death, or financial difficulties. The Farm is open seven days a week, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Reservations are no longer required. Guests can feed orchard hay through or over the fence for $5/bucket and poultry feed for $2/cup.
