Thought for the Week: Creative power

As we’ve been focusing on Living in the Kingdom through this month, we are going deeper into the realization that our true makeup is spiritual. Spirit, or the formless, is the creative and generating force in and through all of creation. Humankind, made in the image and likeness of God, therefore is spirit clothed in a body. Our life is the life of God. Though for most of us this is a foreign idea and not one that we can easily understand or accept.

There have been mystics throughout the ages who have taught this truth – Christ Jesus being perhaps the supreme example – so much so that we call it putting on the Christ consciousness. Bringing ourselves into alignment with the Christ typically takes climbing out of the grip of the egoic mind where we are so entrenched, we cannot see the forest for the trees.

Coming into alignment with the will of God takes conscious intention. It takes setting aside the personal will of the ego so that we can be still and know God’s will is only for our highest and best good. Therefore, allowance is one of the greatest keys to the Kingdom. Allowance requires a rescinding of everything we think we know – all the judgments our ego has fed us over the years. We may be tested and forced to look at our edges of unhappiness, of insecurity and fear-base definitions of what Love is.

Allowing and surrender make us pliable and teachable. By relinquishing the hold of the personal small self, we become available to be guided by the power of Love, which is the seat of all creative power. Let this power of Love captain your ship so you can simply relax and go along for the ride.

Say with me: “I now am willing to allow and surrender my will to Love’s will that resides right within me. I realize I may be tested to look at my edges of insecurity and unhappiness and know that beyond appearances only Love is real.”
