Thought for the Week: Joy

As the angel appeared to the shepherds on that cold and snowy night, their first response was that of fear. But the angel said: “Fear not, for behold I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.” The announcement of the birth of the Christ child was accompanied by good tidings of great joy to all people.

On this second Sunday in December let us accept this good news and rejoice for we are establishing within our hearts a birthplace for God’s love to be born anew. Now is the time to prepare so do a mental and spiritual housekeeping. Dust off notions and feelings of doubt, envy, lack and limitation. Keep order in your dwelling place. Go with the flow of the gifts Life presents to you. Joy is an indwelling experience that is not predicated upon anything in the outer but instead welds up from deep within. It is more than a feeling or an emotion; it brings release from fear and doubt and establishes peace in our hearts. This Christmas season accept the gift of joy herald by the angels. Open your heart to believe and receive that hope springs eternal.

As we give so shall we receive. Therefore, give with abandon from your inner Self for there is an eternal abundance of purity, wholeness and joy awaiting your discovery and sharing of it. As joy is shared it grows and multiplies.

Say with me: “I am preparing for the birth of the Christ within me by letting go of fear and doubt and in its place, I expect with eager anticipation to experience a deep inner joy which I easily share with all. I am so very blessed and I rejoice in this revelation. And it is so.”
