Thought for the Week: Peace on Earth

As we ring out 2020, many are drawing a sigh of relief and trusting 2021 will be a healthier, happier year. Whatever the future holds, let us take the advice the angels gave to the shepherds with “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” This Sunday’s topic is Peace on Earth and there couldn’t be a more appropriate time to remember that is exactly what God intends for us all.

Every year since 1986, at noon Greenwich time on December 31st, people all over the world have joined in repeating the World Healing Day Prayer for Peace written by John Randolph Price. You can find it on the Planetary Commission website. Whether you participate at the specific time, (noon Greenwich time is 4 a.m. Pacific coast time), doesn’t really matter as much as saying the prayer and feeling its transformative power. This Sunday we will be saying it together in church as it is an excellent way to boost the consciousness on earth for peace and good will toward all.

Remember that peace comes to the world one person at a time for it is an inner feeling of acceptance that all is well. Know that God wants Its creation to be at peace in order to experience the Reality that is beyond this third dimension. In truth, God, Spirit, Reality, whatever name you all It, is waiting for each and every one of us to see beyond the veil to live in harmony and oneness with the Divine. This experience can be brought about as we let go of fear and trust that our life is the life of God and that we are always held in Its loving embrace.

Say with me: “Right now I am doing my part to reveal the Kingdom of Light, Love Peace and Understanding on earth. I am a living soul with the Spirit of God dwelling within me. I am at Peace, knowing all is well. And it is so.”

— Rev. Gay Beauregard, Alpine Church of Spiritual Living.
