Thought for the Week: Thankful for freedom

As we approach the 4th of July here in the United States, our thoughts move toward freedom and the privileges, benefits and responsibilities it brings. Our nation’s Declaration of Independence begins with: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit

of Happiness.” How reassuring it is to live in a country founded on these principles with the acknowledgment there is a “Creator,” aka: God. How privileged we are to live in a country based on these truths!

With the evolution of our nation’s progress, let us not deny or turn our backs on this rock of our foundation. Let us continue to uphold our founding fathers trust and faith in divine providence to always lead and guide us. God is the creator, the source and substance of all that is and is continually living through all at every moment. Each of our lives is the life of God. Yes, each individual is unique in their expression of the one source. Let us be tolerant yet mindful to remember this truth and make the continual momentary choice to be grateful for life just as it is. Make the choice to free yourself of all thoughts not in harmony with Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

Say with me: “I am so very grateful and thank God to be living in this great nation founded on principles of Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. I continually remember the price of freedom takes diligence and individual responsibility to do my best as I am divinely guided. Life is great and I am grateful! And so it is.”
