The Alpine Kiwanis Veteran’s Wall of Honor honored ten more heroes: Richard Gird, John Cameron, Phyllis Festa, Alan Hayward, Richard Dahl, John McWilliams, Robert Blumenstock, Roger “Buck” Matoushek, Michael Neville, and Wesley Tart. Each of these heroes’ plaques were added to the Veteran’s Wall of Honor and was celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 30.
Each person that has their name on the wall, put on a uniform to serve this country, putting their lives on the line, for duty and the love of The United States of America.  The Wall honors veterans from all branches of the Armed Forces, and as it currently stands, it will hold 952 tiles.
The Wall was originally the dream of Dan Foster, to honor veterans for their service.  What began as a dream for a small memorial to honor veterans, has grown to surpass the original plan.  The wall is quickly reaching that limit, and will be soon adding more space to hold more tiles.  This dream has grown into a reality that is not only an honor in itself, but a resonating graciousness that will continue to grow as more and more heroes’ names are immortalized in granite, and affixed to the wall.  As Dan Foster said at the previous ceremony, “We’re building two new wall extensions starting this week,” he said. “We can add another 300 plaques.  I don’t know where we’ll go after that. We’re adding new heroes every 30 to 60 days.”
