Thought for the Week: New Life

Easter is upon us, the day of resurrection, of receiving and experiencing new life! Of course, before we can experience a resurrection, we must have gone through the process of the dying away of the old. I heard a song the other day with the lyrics: “Everybody wants to go to heaven, but nobody wants to die.” It’s one of those, “you want your cake and eat it too” type of thing.

I believe the message of Easter is many faceted with lessons and revelations galore. Yes, first and foremost, we do have to go through the experience of letting go of the known, letting go of a current way of being and many times that involves pain and even suffering. Jesus’ example even on the cross was one of compassion, asking God to “forgive them for they know not what they do.”

As Jesus moved through the dying process, His essence and energy returned to His followers showing them the final lesson that death is not an end, but that Life goes on and is eternal. We must have faith in this knowing. We must abide in the Love of the divine where we feel Love’s Presence. There is a security, safety and sacredness that befalls us when we let go of required expectations of Life, and simply fall into Love’ embrace. Each of us can become the Christ consciousness as we follow the teachings of unconditional Love for self and others – knowing we are all truly one. Pray to be raised above the distinctions and differences that divide. Pray for peace in the world. Pray knowing the grace of God is ever with, as and through you and all.

Say with me: “I happily accept this day of new life! I let go, forgive, and move into a deeper kind of Love than I’ve ever experienced. This is the dawn bringing clarity, compassion and a deep joy into my heart and soul. I am grateful and it is so.”
