They’re going whole hog, beef and turkey on Saturday, Oct. 14, at the “Annual Deep Pit BBQ” at the Alpine VFW Bert Fuller Post 9578!
Add BBQ sides, live music, drawings, auctions, prizes and more from 2 to 7 p.m. and you have the VFW’s last big event of the year at 844 Tavern Road. The fundraiser for veterans’ organizations is open to the public! Call (619) 445-6040 to get details.

“Tea with Mrs. Roosevelt” will be an eye opener on Sunday, Oct. 15, at the Alpine Woman’s Club!
The Alpine Historical Society has found something interesting for everyone in this portrayal of Eleanor Roosevelt and her best friend, journalist Lorena Hickok. Performed by Annette Hubbell and Connie Cragel Le Pare, this social scene is entertaining and informative. .
